Beer with a story

Behind all Blaes beers there is a personal story inspired by family, the present, the past and by the (Zaan) region. The beers are directly linked to our personality and that is why we will not brew beers from a commercial point of view if we would not drink it ourselves.

A 'Zaanse Helles' according to the German Reinheitsgebot

… so that beer only contains malt, hops, water and yeast. Straw yellow in colour, malty, slightly sweet, refreshing, drinkable and full of flavour. Contains German malts, hops and yeast. Made with water from the characteristic Typical Dutch dunes. A recipe full of dedication, perseverance and curiosity.

A Tripel from Zaanse soil

… special high-fermentation beer, cold-bearing with refermentation in the bottle and keg. Amber in color, malty, fruity, smooth, slightly bitter, full body, refined complex, accessible and full of flavor. With subtle notes of caramel and dark fruit. A combination of Belgian abbey yeast, German malts, Slovenian hops, raw cane sugar and water from the characteristic typical Dutch dunes.

A soft and bright Brown Porter

The statue of 'Tsar Peter the Great' stands proudly in the middle of Dam Square in Zaandam. The man responsible for the modernization and reform of Russia. The symbol of curiosity, eagerness to learn, dedication and perseverance. For example, Peter I Alekseyevich Romanov ended up in Zaandam in 1697 to learn the trade of a boat builder. A year later, in England, he fell in love with their dark beers; Porters and Stouts. Indeed, the origin of the 'Russian Imperial Stout'!

A summer Zaanse classic

…brewed according to the German Reinheitsgebot. A classic Bavarian wheat beer. Unfiltered, top-fermented with refermentation in the bottle. Full but soft, accessible, malty, slightly bitter, refreshing and very drinkable. Extremely suitable for food pairing. Brewed with the highest quality ingredients.

Maritime heritage in a bottle

…no matter where the journey took us, beer always accompanied us everywhere. A very drinkable cross between a British Pale Ale and an American IPA with a subtle combination of selectively bred Native American hops and European aroma and bittering hops. A relatively modern style of beer with heritage from the New World, and the East Indies show the importance of beer throughout history.

A Zaanse herbal bitter made from grain alcohol from our own distillery. A collaboration between Zaanshine Distillery and Blaes Bier. The perfect herbal bitter to accompany your glass of Blaes Gold.


Geitenbierkaas

Zaan goats, Zaan milk, Zaan farmers, Zaan cheese factory, Zaan brewer, Zaan beer, a lot of patience and above all a lot of passion for honest products. Organic, raw milk, traditional, local and above all very tasty! Delicious goat cheese, matured in a bath of Blaes Tripel 777.
